Over 3,000 jobs to be created in state in BPO sector

Over 3,000 youngsters in the state will get jobs in business process outsourcing (BPO) companies once the plans of Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) to bring in new entrepreneurs in the field in Tier II and III cities are materialised.

Indore: Over 3,000 youngsters in the state will get jobs in business process outsourcing (BPO) companies once the plans of Software Technology Parks of India (STPI) to bring in new entrepreneurs in the field in Tier II and III cities are materialised.
STPI additional director Ravi Verma said that the newly-envisaged India BPO Promotion Scheme (IBPS) was meant to be run by new companies set up under the Companies Act.

Under this scheme 3,200 jobs will be created in Madhya Pradesh, mostly in Indore. "Government will give 50 per cent capital subsidy. But the subsidy calculated per seat will be not more than Rs 1 lakh," said Verma. Units from Indore, Bhopal, Jabalpur and other cities across the state were invited to participate in the bids floated by STPI for the same. "Our aim is to rope in maximum companies and create huge employment opportunities for the youth," said S H Abbas Mehdi, Deputy Director, STPI.
The central government has announced benefits for companies providing employment to women, disabled and those in rural areas. As per official sources, a company can bid for a maximum of 800 seats. "We would help in disbursement of capital support and the units from any sector that can set up their BPO will get assistance from us," he added. Last date for online bids has been extended till June 30.
